The Robo Flat Become a partner Partner
A Swiss family house at dusk with every window lit. Two humanoid robots stand in the living-room window.

Concept in development · Partners wanted

Robots are moving in.

The Robo Flat is a real family house in Switzerland that we are turning into a home for humanoid robots. Everyday chores are the test track, and cameras will let everyone watch.

Concept visualisation · AI-generated

The idea

In a lab, folding a towel is a demo. In a real house, it is the test.

The camera glides from the front door down the hallway into the living room, past the kitchen and the stairs, and ends on the control-room monitors.
A walk through the house · Concept visualisation
  • A real house, not a set

Stairs, a kitchen, a living room, a garden. The house was built for a family, not for robots. That is the point.

  • Robots as residents

The robots do not drop by for a demo. They live here: laundry, dishes, stairs, garden, day after day, with everything that goes wrong along the way.

  • Made to be watched

Cameras in the rooms and a control room are part of the plan. Live streams and audience voting follow, and later our own streaming platform.

Residents

Meet Nova and Bolt.

They are our concept characters: stand-ins for the real robots that partners will bring into the house.

Nova, a slender white humanoid robot with two small light dots as eyes, standing in a hallway.

Nova

Polymer white · concept character

Precise and patient. Puts the plates away without a sound and is a little proud of a well-set table.

Bolt, a sturdy graphite-grey humanoid robot with a yellow light strip, holding a cardboard box in a hallway.

Bolt

Graphite · concept character

Strong and willing. Carries anything you hand over and is not always sure where the door frame is.

The house

Every room is a different test.

Nothing here was simplified for machines. Each room asks for something else.

The pictures are concept visualisations. They do not show the actual house.

Nova sits on the edge of a sofa while Bolt adjusts a floor lamp in the living room; a small camera stands on a tripod in the corner.

Living room

Soft things, shared space

Sofas, lamps, cables, towels. Things that bend, sag and tangle, in a room made for people to sit in.

Nova placing a ceramic plate into an open kitchen cabinet.

Kitchen

Fragile things

Ceramic plates, glasses, cabinet doors at head height. Precision with consequences.

Bolt climbing a straight wooden staircase with one hand on the handrail, seen from the foot of the stairs.

Stairs

Balance

A staircase and a handrail. The oldest hard problem in the house.

A robot lawn mower on the lawn at dusk while Nova watches from the open terrace door.

Garden

Outdoors

Uneven lawn, changing light, a door to the outside, and a lawn mower that is a robot too.

Bolt on a charging dock in a tidy workshop corner with tools on a pegboard.

Charging corner

Upkeep · planned

Docks, tools, tidy cables. Where residents will recharge and be looked after.

A small control room with monitors showing the rooms of the house and a red emergency stop button in the foreground.

Control room

Safety · planned

Camera feeds from the house and an emergency stop within reach. The house will be supervised from here.

You decide · planned

What should they try next?

Once the streams start, the audience picks the next task. Here is a taste. Pick one.

  • Nova tries to fold a large bath towel in the living room.

    Fold the laundry

One bath towel, one sofa, two hands.

  • Bolt carefully climbs the first three wooden steps, one hand on the banister.

    Climb the stairs

    Three wooden steps, slowly.

  • Nova sets plates and glasses on a dining table.

    Set the table

Plates, glasses, and the last glass placed just right.

Voting opens with the first live stream.

Formats · planned

Four formats to start with.

Short vertical clips for social feeds, alongside the long live streams from the house.

  • Bolt bumps into a door frame while carrying a laundry basket; laundry falls out.

    Fail of the week

    When the door frame wins.

  • Nova and Bolt race across the living room carrying cardboard boxes.

    The duel

Two robots, one task, one finish line.

  • An open wooden crate stands by the front door; a new humanoid robot steps out of it.

    New arrival

A crate at the door. A new resident steps out.

  • Nova stacks colourful wooden blocks into a tower on the coffee table.

    The challenge

One wobbly tower, any number of attempts.

Partners

Room available.

We have the house. The residents, the backers and the crew are what we are putting together now.

  • Robot makers

Bring your humanoid and run your own tests in a real family house: stairs, kitchen, garden and all.

    You bring
One or more robots and your own test plan.
    You get
A real home as a test environment, and a place in the formats and streams once they launch.
  • Sponsors

Back the house and be seen in it: in the rooms, in the formats and, later, on the stream.

    You bring
Budget, products or equipment for the house.
    You get
Presence in the house and its content. We are early, so we shape it together.
  • Tech & media

Cameras, connectivity, streaming, smart-home gear, research, press.

    You bring
The know-how or the reach to build and tell the story.
    You get
A hands-on role from the very start.
